Staff Therapist

Jabari is a graduate of Auburn University’s Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Throughout his career, he has gained valuable, diverse experience across a variety of settings, including intensive inpatient care at East Alabama Medical Center, crisis response, and university student development. These foundational experiences have deeply shaped his understanding of the unique challenges individuals face, strengthening his commitment to meeting each client exactly where they are. Jabari’s approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and helping clients develop practical, evidence-based coping strategies that support meaningful, lasting change.

His passion for counseling was ignited during a transformative study abroad experience at the University of Edinburgh, where he discovered the vital importance of mental health and how the intersection of our experiences, relationships, and environments shapes overall well-being. This life-changing perspective reinforced his desire to walk alongside people through some of life’s most challenging moments, helping them realize they never have to navigate those experiences alone. To Jabari, counseling is not simply about helping people overcome difficulties; it is about empowering them to discover their inherent strengths, develop a deeper understanding of themselves, and move toward a more fulfilling quality of life.

Jabari chose to join the team at A Little Counseling because he felt a sense of genuine care and supportiveness from the moment he first entered the office. He deeply values the opportunity to grow as a clinician in an environment that actively promotes empathy, authentic connection, and tailored, individualized care. Having supported clients across the lifespan through acute psychiatric symptoms, anxiety, and major life transitions, he draws on his resourceful nature and training in modalities like CBT and DBT to equip clients with the specific tools and insights they need to build confidence and align their daily lives with their core values.

Outside of his clinical work, Jabari loves staying active and exploring his diverse interests. He is a passionate sports fan who loves watching college and professional basketball, and he enjoys diving into video games, traveling to new destinations, and spending hours exploring art museums. Jabari looks forward to walking alongside his clients as they navigate life's challenges, discover their strengths, and move forward with greater confidence and well-being.
