MS, LCMHCA
Clairissa graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a Master’s in School Counseling and a certificate in Marriage and Family Counseling. She has six years of experience in the field of education and spent four of those years as a Professional School Counselor. During this time, she had the opportunity to support children and youth at a variety of developmental stages and facilitated a comprehensive school counseling program. For the past three years, she has served children and families through her position as a Forensic Interviewer and support for the Family Advocate and Intake Servies at SAFEchild Advocacy Center. Clairissa loves helping to make a difference in the lives of others daily. She is a strong advocate for mental health as a component of overall wellness.
Having the opportunity to connect with and help others in a meaningful way is the driving force behind what inspired Clairissa to become a counselor. She loves to assist people in creating a life they love and can be proud of despite inevitable challenges. In her free time, she loves to read, spend time with family, travel, and spend time outside.
Clairissa was drawn to ALC’s program for children and adolescents. “I have spent my career working with children in different capacities, I can see the need for therapy and the positive impact if has on children.” She is excited for the opportunity to help children and adolescents develop skills to manage anxiety that they can use as they transition into adulthood.
Welcome to our team Clairissa, we are incredibly excited to have you with us!
